CLASS program

Community Living Assistance & Support Services

CLASS provides individual services and support to persons with related conditions who are living with their families, in their own homes, or with friends or relatives in the community.

Eligibility

Five requirements

  • There is no age limit.
  • Not currently enrolled in another Medicaid waiver program.
  • A determination made in accordance with state law, or a physician's diagnosis of a related condition.
  • Has chosen the CLASS program over the ICF/MR program.
  • Financial eligibility is determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Habilitation services

Building skills, not dependence

Services are customized and supervised, and are not limited to activities of daily living: bathing, hygiene, wardrobe, dressing, meal preparation and feeding, cleaning and laundry.
